For the Cheesy Delight
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese Oaxaca cheese or mozzarella can be substituted.
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese Mild cheddar or a cheese blend are great alternatives.
For the Taco Base
  • 12 Corn Tortillas Flour tortillas can also be used.
For Frying
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil Corn oil, peanut oil, or sunflower oil can be used.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef, diced white onion, and chopped jalapeño. Cook for about 8–10 minutes until browned.
  2. Stir in Slap Ya Mama, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in the skillet to about 375°F (190°C).
  4. Fry one tortilla for about 30 seconds until it puffs. Add 2 tablespoons of filling and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Fold the tortilla in half and fry for an additional 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Let rest before serving.
